Vaping
Vaping is what people use as an alternative to try and quit smoking, but for young people that's not the case. Vaping is popular with young people and more people are starting to use them, despite never smoking before.
As of 2024, 7.2% of young people between 11 - 17 years old (390,000) are vaping regularly. This is more than 5.1% of the same age range (280,000) who only smoke. The problem is they can buy them at their local corner shop without being checked for ID leading to more vapes being consumed daily. Vaping can lead to a nicotine addiction as vapes contain nicotine, lung problems, asthma and cancer to name a few. If you vape regularly you could go through vomiting, headaches and acting aggressive. The UK government are set to ban disposable vapes by 1st June 2025 in a way to cut down young people vaping.
