Drugs is what people commonly think of when they think of the word "Addiction". It is also one of the most dangerous addictions that anyone can go through, even affecting friends and family despite them not doing drugs.
There are different types of drugs people can get addicted to for example weed, cocaine, steroids and anti depressants to name a few. Between April 2022 and March 2023, 12,418 people who were 18 or younger were in contact with drug services. The admissions to the services were risen by nearly 1,000 people from the previous year. Drugs could cause liver, kidney and heart problems or cancer. It could also make your mental health deteriorate. In 2022 in England and Wales, there were 4,907 drug related deaths of all ages showing that heavy drug use kills and causes overdoses. If you see someone you believed to have overdosed, immediately call 000 and ask for an ambulance.
